Coneman

One of the main duties of a stevedore is working as Coneman. Coneman goes on top of the containers with the help of the Spreader of a Quay crane, do unlocking of the semi-auto twist locks, or manual twist locks by using an Actuator Pole on the time of discharging of containers. A coneman, must be careful while he doing unlocking of containers. He must follow the safety rules at all the times he working on top of the containers. A coneman must wear the personal protective equipments such as Helmet, Safety belt, Cotton hand gloves, flouresecent overall. He must be aware of discharging of containers, and must be careful of the floor of the containers. Because, some time, there is chance of sliding if any oily substances found on the containers. Every time, he goes to the corner of a container, must walk cross to the edge of the containers to perform an unlocking the twist locks. Here, I give a picture of a coneman to show the appearence how he working on top of the container.
