CONTAINER LASHING ONBOARD THE VESSEL



Lashing means to secure the containers onboard the Vessels. Lashing patterns are of different types according to the vessels that sailing to the countries according to the weather conditions found. The lashers onboard the vessel known as Lashing man. Lashing onboard the vessel contains many types of works. These works mainly followed by precautious safety. Otherwise, this work makes dangerous life loss. Therefore, through this blog, I want to share my thoughts, ideas about the lashing job, and mainly how to avoid injuries, life loss, etc. I request all of you that if anybody interested in this blog, can share your valuable suggestions, ideas to make this blog very usable. I'm waiting for your valuable suggestions.

Here, the pictures shown that the container vessels berthed at Container Terminal from which the containers unloaded/loaded onboard the vessel by using quay cranes. Generally, no.of quay cranes deployed according to the vessel length or otherwise the total no.of container moves by unloading/loading.So,the Lashing men involved in these work process of containers. On the arrival of the vessel, berthing gang works for the vessel berthing. After the vessel's berthing, lashing gang moves towards onboard vessel, and unlash the containers according to the discharge/loading sequences provided by the authorities. A blue colured back ground picture shows the type of lashing bars & buckles, normal cones, auto cones ( these cones used in the under deck or hatch of the vessel to stacking the containers properly). The Twist locks are of many types, used in various container vessels. Generally, The container vessels move around the world, facing different weathers. So, a proper stowage of containers, proper lashing of containers save the containers from damage.

CONTAINERS
Containers are of different sizes, ie. 20 feet, 40 feet, 53 feet in length. But, 20 & 40 footer containers are in popular usage around the world. The height of the containers would be 8" plus, some times 9" plus. We later go to discuss about the safety measures about the lashing job involved onboard the vessel.
